What's with stalker girls?

Firstly, please click on the banner above to support the Respect Rob Pattinson campaign, and follow it on Twitter: @respectrpattz. After the debacle that was the obsessed stalker scene involving Rob (see some very appropriate words on the subject here: Twilight-Headed: Protecting Rob's Ass-ets!) and some girls who need lessons on appropriate conduct, learning the difference between being a fan and assaulting someone, and tips on fashion, it's clear that not enough is being done to protect Rob Pattinson. There have been many incidents where an actor has had such promise (eg Heath Ledger), and then something horrible happens to them because of the pressure. I mean, seriously, how many millions of pictures do we need to see of the guy EVERY SINGLE DAY??! Don't get me wrong, I am DEFINITELY a fan of Rob Pattinson, but if I see 20 pics in a row of his progress walking down a street, I just think that's a little excessive. I know that something like the first amendment makes celebrities easier to access then anyone else due to their line of work, but is it too much to ask that during the period of time that the Twilight Saga is being filmed that he get some decent security? The hype will eventually die down, but probably not for a few years, and until then he's not going to be able to know anything of a normal life if he's followed everywhere, allowed to be assaulted by crazed stalkers, and if more rumours are made up about him than there are real rumours involving Lindsay Lohan.

He's a real person, with a real threshold of the amount of crazed stalker-tude that he can take, and I know we all want to see him around for a long time to come. That's my word on the subject.

BIG special mention to: Twilight-Headed and LetMeSign.Com
