Twilight - My LAST Opinions

Directing

Ugh, talk about time constraints ruining a movie. The first time I watched it I really liked it, but now that I've been watching it a few more times there are just too many flaws in the story line and general directing. First, a few things about the script, and the acting of that script:

When Bella and Eric first meet, she weakly objects to the news story on her. After barely any objection, the supposed school paper journalist decides to cut the big story, spouting a very lame Chillax. He cuts in too quickly.

Kristen's pretend sleeping the first time Edward's in her room is just plain BAD. Who sleeps so perfectly when they're supposedly woken up by a rough dream?

Why does Bella assume things about Edward after the body is wheeled past her at the police station? Yeah, in the book she puts things together (though not with a body, that's obviously a storyline specifically in the movie only), but it seems like an excessive leap in the movie.

Why, when Edward comes to pick her up for school the first time, is she still in bed? It was late enough for her to take herself to school, so why wasn't she ready?

Why was Bella explaining Edward's house to him? Talking about how light it was, and then adding “you know?” like they were taking a tour of some place they were thinking about buying.

How come Rosalie isn't in the shot where she says “Here comes the human.”? You'd think the person saying the line would be included in the shot unless it was an intimate shot going between two different people.

When Charlie thinks Edward's too old for Bella, it isn't explained that he actually thought she was referring to Emmett, so instead it just seems like maybe he suspects something about Edward.

The bad vampires were standing so close to Bella in the clearing that they should have smelled her. Especially with Laurent's 300 years of human hunting.

In the gazebo the extras leave too quickly. They just suddenly stop dancing and walk off. If they really wanted to get into acting, they should have whispered something random to each other, pretend to be done with the dancing, and then leave. All in the same time it took to dance and suddenly walk off. Easy. Trust me, I've been an extra before.

Other directing:

Why does Bella take food off Jessica's tray twice? Especially since she's a shy, self-conscious person. The first time, when she's just arrived and they're talking about the newspaper article she takes celery off her plate, it's obvious that it wasn't on her own plate. Then she does it again before she goes over and the whole 'edible art' scene plays out, taking a piece of cucumber off her plate. Even with my good friends I wouldn't feel like I had the right to just take food off their plates, so why does she do it twice?

Make up

Okay, I can't be the only person that thinks that Bella's already too pale. She's as pale as Edward already, how are they planning on making her any paler? They'll have to paint her face white. I know that blushing on command is virtually impossible, but all they had to do was add a bit of colour to her cheeks so that when she gets changed into a vampire they can take it away. VoilĂ , instant pale.

Carlisle's make up was very obvious in the first hospital scene. It looked like it had been caked on. Nothing they can do about it now, obviously, but for future reference they should try to actually watch what they're doing.

Now, we all know that Rob Pattinson and his facial scruff is pretty gorgeous (well, most of us know that), but Edward shouldn't have a five o'clock shadow in some scenes, and not in others, because obviously vampires are undead and their hair can't grow.

Victoria looks like she's been crying at the end, her face looks slightly damp. Vampires can't cry, they're UNDEAD. There's nothing inside them to expel in tear form. Kudos to her on managing to stand in a room full of humans and not go into a feeding frenzy. I guess she was really bent on revenge against Bella and Edward. :P

Meh, I can't be bothered to write any more, and really, who needs to read any more of my opinions?. I've been doing a lot of writing this week any way. Oh, and there are plenty of continuity errors, but other people have gone into those. Check out the Twilight-headed blog for comments on those errors.
