Just because I'm movie-crazy

So, I watched two new movies today, that have been out for a while, but give me a freaking break, I'm a little behind times. :P Anyway, here's my quick thoughts on them:

Marley and Me

I'm not a Jennifer Aniston fan. I liked her as Rachael in Friends, but when it became obvious that she really didn't have any other characters I quickly lost interest. I did like her in Picture Perfect, though, but I think that was more because of Jay Mohr. In this movie I was actually able to gain some respect for her, because it became quite obvious that she is actually a dog person in real life, and I can always respect animal lovers. It was light-hearted and funny most of the time, and even though the tiny scene with Kathleen Turner was pointless, for the most part I really enjoyed it, and I almost always like Owen Wilson anyway. It's a good movie for animal lovers, although be prepared to be thinking about your own pet's mortality at the end.

Seven Pounds

Will Smith is a fantastic actor. He may have started out as a comedian, but he has since surpassed all expectations to become a very serious actor in roles like Legend of Bagger Vance, and Seven Pounds. Hancock and Hitch were also excellent movies that dabbled more towards his comedic tendencies. What I liked about this movie was the mystery. I wasn't sure what he was up to at first, but as the story unfolded and he found his seven people I began to see what he was going to do. I like that it started with a prologue-type scene, and as always Will Smith has a super-expressive face, and every time he went to cry I could feel my eyes tearing up.
